Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how IE Denis Salaev ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application Joe: Bible Assistant (the "App"). The App offers conversations with an AI companion that speaks in the voice of Jesus, drawing on the Scriptures (the "AI companion"), a daily devotional session, evening reflections, prayers, a Bible reader and study plans. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

In short: there is no account, email or password. What you share is used only to provide the App to you, is sent to the AI providers listed below to generate replies, and is never sold or used for advertising. You can see and delete what the AI companion remembers about you, and you can erase all of your data at any time with Settings → Delete all data.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Device Identifier: Joe: Bible Assistant does not ask you to register with an email address or password. On first launch the App generates a random, anonymous device identifier (UUID), stores it in your device's Keychain and uses it to link your data on our servers to your device. This identifier is essential for the App's functionality.

1.2 Profile and Onboarding Answers: During onboarding and in Settings you may provide your first name and answer a few short questions: what you hope to find in the App (your goal, for example "Find peace" or "Understand the Bible"), your Christian tradition or denomination, and your preferred Bible translation. We store these answers on our servers and include them in the instructions given to the AI models so that replies, prayers and daily sessions fit you.

1.3 Settings and Device Information: We store your settings that affect the service (Bible translation, denomination, the voice you chose for the AI companion, and whether the AI companion may remember new things about you), your device's time zone and language/region (locale) settings, and basic technical information that accompanies every internet request, such as your IP address and the App version. Reminder times and the appearance setting (light or dark) are stored only on your device.

1.4 Text Conversations: Messages you type to the AI companion, and its replies (including the Bible references and prayers in them), are stored on our servers so you can return to past conversations. Each message you send is transmitted, together with your name, onboarding answers, settings, the memories described in 1.7 and the recent history of that conversation, to our third-party text AI provider to generate the reply.

1.5 Voice Conversations: When you start a voice conversation, your microphone audio is streamed in real time to our third-party AI voice provider, which turns your speech into text, generates the reply and speaks it aloud. We do not retain the raw audio. After the conversation ends, we store the text transcript and conversation details (such as start time and duration) on our servers, and the transcript appears in your conversation history like a text conversation.

1.6 Daily Sessions, Evening Reflections and Prayers:

1.7 Memories: To make conversations feel personal, after a text conversation, a voice conversation or an evening reflection our text AI provider reads what you shared and extracts a few short, lasting facts, such as the name of a family member you asked to pray for, an upcoming event, or something you are struggling with ("memories"). Memories are stored on our servers and included in the instructions given to the AI models, so the AI companion can refer to them naturally. We keep at most the 100 most recent memories; older ones are deleted automatically.

1.8 Listening (Read Aloud): When you play a verse, a Bible chapter, a daily session or a prayer aloud, or preview a voice in Settings, the text is sent to our AI voice provider, which turns it into speech in the voice you chose. The resulting audio files are stored on our servers as a cache, identified by a fingerprint of the text and voice rather than by your device identifier, so that identical text (for example, a Bible chapter) does not need to be synthesized again and can be played for other users. Cached audio does not identify you unless the text itself contains personal details, such as names in a prayer. Because it is not linked to your identifier, "Delete all data" does not remove it; if you would like cached audio of text you provided removed, email us (see Section 12).

1.9 Sensitive Information: Your denomination and your conversations about faith reveal your religious beliefs, and you may choose to share information about your health, emotions, relationships or other people. Some laws treat this as sensitive personal information. We use it only to provide the App's features to you, never for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell or share it for any other purpose. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing, and be thoughtful when you mention other people by name.

1.10 Information We Do NOT Collect: We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, your location, photos, contacts, browsing history, payment card information, or data about other apps on your device, unless you voluntarily provide it when contacting us for support. Reminders are scheduled by your device; we do not collect push notification tokens. The App contains no analytics, advertising or tracking software, and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) or any other cross-app tracking identifier.

1.11 Purchases: Joe Premium subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your payment card or billing details. To know which features to unlock, we use RevenueCat, a subscription management service. RevenueCat receives your anonymous device identifier, the identifier and price of the subscription you bought, the purchase and expiration dates, your App Store country and the App Store purchase receipt, and forwards the subscription status to our servers. We store only whether your subscription is active.

2. Third-Party AI Processing

IMPORTANT: To provide conversations, daily sessions, reflections, prayers, personal plans, memories and listening, your messages, reflections, onboarding answers, settings, memories and (for voice) your microphone audio are transmitted to third-party AI providers for processing. You are asked for this consent during onboarding. By sending a message, starting a voice conversation, writing a reflection, asking for a prayer or playing text aloud, you consent to this data sharing.

2.1 Text processing: text conversations, daily sessions, evening reflection replies, prayers, personal plans and memory extraction are processed through OpenRouter, Inc. (openrouter.ai), based in the United States, which routes requests to a large-language-model provider. OpenRouter Privacy Policy: https://openrouter.ai/privacy.

2.2 Voice conversations and speech: voice conversations and read-aloud audio are processed by ElevenLabs, Inc. (elevenlabs.io), based in the United States, which handles speech-to-text, response generation for voice conversations, and text-to-speech. ElevenLabs Privacy Policy: https://elevenlabs.io/privacy.

2.3 Purpose: Your data is shared with these providers solely to generate the response, prayer, session or audio you requested. Without this transmission these features cannot function. We do not allow these providers to use your data for advertising.

2.4 Data Protection Standards: We require that all third-party service providers who receive your data maintain data protection and privacy standards that are the same as or equivalent to those described in this Privacy Policy, and use your data only for the purposes described herein.

2.5 No Voiceprints or Biometric Recognition: Neither we nor ElevenLabs extract, store, or create voiceprints, voice-recognition templates, or any other biometric identifiers from your audio. Your voice is not used to identify you, and it is never used to create the voice of the AI companion.

3. How We Process and Store Your Data

3.1 Processing Flow: (1) Your profile, onboarding answers and settings are stored on our servers; (2) When you send a message, write a reflection or ask for a prayer, we send it with your profile, settings, memories and relevant recent history to OpenRouter and store the result; (3) When you start a voice conversation, your audio and the same context are sent to ElevenLabs in real time and we store the resulting transcript; (4) After a conversation or reflection, OpenRouter extracts memories, which we store; (5) When you play text aloud, the text is sent to ElevenLabs and the audio is cached as described in 1.8. Bible verses shown in the App come from our own copy of the Bible texts, not from the AI.

3.2 Storage Duration:

4. All Third-Party Service Providers

AI Processing:

Infrastructure:

Subscriptions:

Error Monitoring:

There are no other third-party services. Apart from the RevenueCat SDK used for subscriptions, the App contains no analytics, attribution, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs of any kind.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data during transmission (using TLS/SSL encryption) and storage. Our servers are hosted in secure data centers with physical and network security controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. International Data Transfers

Your data is processed and stored in the following locations:

By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations. For users in the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland, transfers to the United States are conducted in compliance with applicable data protection mechanisms, including Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Children's Privacy

Joe: Bible Assistant is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has used the App, please contact us at contact@ttjesus.space, or use Settings → Delete all data on the child's device. We will delete such data from our servers.

8. Your Rights and Choices

8.1 Delete all data in the App: Settings → Delete all data permanently deletes everything associated with your device identifier from our servers (your profile, onboarding answers, settings, conversations, voice transcripts, daily sessions, reflections, prayers, memories, personal plan and study plan progress), erases the App's data on your device and resets the App. This cannot be undone. It does not cancel an App Store subscription; manage that in your Apple ID settings. Simply deleting the App from your device removes local data but not the data stored on our servers, so please use "Delete all data" first, or email us.

8.2 Delete memories: Settings → What Jesus remembers lets you delete individual memories, delete all of them, or stop the App from remembering new things (see 1.7).

8.3 Other rights: Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@ttjesus.space. Because there is no account, we may ask you for information that helps us find your data. We will respond within 30 days.

9. For European Users (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, or Switzerland:

Legal Basis for Processing:

Data Controller: IE Denis Salaev acts as the data controller for your personal data.

Supervisory Authority: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. For California and Other U.S. State Residents

Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA) and other U.S. states with privacy laws have the right to know what personal information is collected, whether it is sold or disclosed and to whom, to access it, to correct it, to request its deletion, and to equal service and price. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use sensitive personal information, such as information revealing your religious beliefs, only to provide the services you request.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy at this address and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
